  13. Symptom:      Device names appear and disappear rapidly or don't appear at 
  14.               all in the Chooser.
  15.  
  16. Problem:      This is caused by a Chooser limitation on the number of 
  17.               names that can be displayed.  It occurs when too many 
  18.               devices of the same type reside in the same zone -- it has 
  19.               been observed with more than 15 device names of 12 
  20.               characters average length.  Information on device, zone, 
  21.               and name limitations in the Chooser can be found on 
  22.               AppleLink in the Apple Support/Technical Information Icons.  
  23.               The search syntax under Technical Information is "Chooser 
  24.               Names".  The file name is "Chooser: Device, Zone, and Name 
  25.               Limits".

  27. Solution or 
  28. Workaround:   Divide the AppleTalk network into zones containing fewer 
  29.               services, or reduce the number of characters in some or all 
  30.               of the device names.  If the problem is related to multiple 
  31.               print queues on one server (all of which must reside in the 
  32.               zone of the server's internal network), reduce the number of 
  33.               queues on that server or rename the queues with shorter 
  34.               names.
